Restroom Danger, part 2

A couple of months ago I told you about a dangerous encounter I had in the restroom at Home Depot. Interestingly enough, I had another bizarre occurance in a restroom...this time at Wal-Mart. I had just finished some of my Christmas shopping, feeling lost, homesick, and ready to assume the fetal position after wandering the isles of Wal-Mart wondering to myself if I was the only "normal" person in the store, when I decided I'd better use the restroom before the journey home. So I parked my cart, grabbed my bag of pruchases and walked into the restroom. There was a sign next to it that grabbed my attention, "No merchandise beyond this point". I figured I'd be okay since I just bought these items and they were now mine. Anyway, as I walked into the restroom I wondered to myself, "That's weird. I wonder where all of the urinals are?" I went ahead and used a toilet, no need to shut the stall door behind me since I wasn't going to be sitting, right? Finished my business, washed my hands, and was clapping my hands (strangely something I have never done before) under the hand dryer when a lady walked around the corner and gave me a very startled look and bolted back out of the restroom. And then... the light went on in my head... that was the reason there weren't any urinals. I hollered after the lady, "Wait, maybe I'm in the wrong one!"

The moral of the story; stay vigilent out there this holiday season. Pay attention to all of the signs...not just the ones with words on them...look at the pictures of stick figures too.

Olbermann

Glenn Beck featured the audio from this clip on his show yesterday but you have to see the video to truly appreciate what an egotistical guy Olbermann is. His show is a bunch of ranting about how he is so much better than the rest of the human race.

A few weeks ago Saturday Night Live did a skit of Olbermann and his show. Now you know he's out there when a left wing show like SNL, starring far lefty Ben Affleck, is making fun of one of their own. This skit is hilarious if you've ever seen the Countdown on MSNBC.

2012

As many of you have most likely heard, the earth and/or mankind is supposed to undergo some sort of change on December 21, 2012. I've mentioned this before in my post about Obama, the Beast, and Revelations...

4 And they worshipped the dragon (Satan) which gave power unto the beast (representing degenerate earthly kingdoms controlled by Satan): and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him (i.e. isn't he wonderful!)?5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. (If Obama was to take office on January 20th, 2009, 42 months later would be the Summer Solstice June 20th. Exactly 6 months later is December 21st, the Winter Soltice, and also happens to be the end date for the Mayan Calendar.)

Anyway, I found some interesting facts at this website http://www.december212012.com/

Numerology
In numerology every number has a corresponding letter associated with it. The date 12-21-12 reads as, A-B-B-A-A-B. When you consider that the Hebrew language is read from right to left, this date would read BA ABBA. The Hebrew translation for BA ABBA is "Father comes / is coming"

The Vatican holds very closely to the Prophecy of St. Malachy. This Medieval Monk had detailed visions of 112 Popes until Doomsday, also known as The Biblical Apocalypse. The current Pope, Benedict XVI is the 111th named Pope, only one Pope remains.

Hollywood, of course is on top of this stuff as well. Here's a trailer for a movie coming out soon.

Shoulda had him cremated...

Man's coffin kills wife on way to cemetery
SAO PAULO, Brazil - Police say a woman has died on the way to a cemetery when a traffic accident hurled her husband's coffin against the back of her neck.
Police said 67-year-old Marciana Silva Barcelos was in the front passenger seat of the hearse when the accident occurred Monday in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul.
Barcelos died instantly.
Her 76-year-old husband, Josi Silveira Coimbra, died Sunday of a heart attack while dancing at a party.

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — A North Platte man faces a domestic assault charge after he allegedly attacked his girlfriend for making him macaroni for dinner.

Police say Donald Jacobs Jr. was arrested last Saturday.
Investigator Dale Matuszczak says the woman called for help after locking herself in a bathroom.
Matuszczak says she apparently had been hit with a cooking pot, suffering a cut on her nose and bruise on her face.

According to the police report, Jacobs was intoxicated and assaulted the woman when he discovered she made macaroni for his dinner. Food was tossed around the house as he hit the woman with the pot.

Jacobs is charged with second-degree domestic assault.

Danger

Yesterday I was in Home Depot for some things. I'm scraping out some grout and caulk in the shower to make things shiny and new. Anyway, I found myself flirting with danger in the search for my items. I was wandering around looking for the caulk when I thought I'd stop in the men's room before continuing my journey. While I was in there there was a rather large employee using one of the other urinals. My first thought was, "Well I'll just ask this guy where it is." But then I thought about the consequences of asking such in innocent question.

Things not to ask a Home Depot employee while in the men's room,
"Where is the caulk?" and "Can you tell me where I'd find the tubes of caulk please?"

Bible prophecy

Two headlines caught my attention today that are both straight out of the Bible. Specifically I'm talking about Ezekiel 38 and 39, and the war of Gog (Putin?) and Magog (Russia). For more information on that stuff I highly recommend Epicenter by Joel Rosenberg.

Putin may return to Kremlin in '09: report

MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russian President Dmitry Medvedev could resign from his
post in 2009 to pave the way for Vladimir Putin to return to the Kremlin,
Vedomosti newspaper reported on Thursday, citing an unidentified source close to
the Kremlin.
Medvedev Wednesday proposed increasing the presidential term to
six years from four years, a step the newspaper said was part of a plan drawn up
by Vladislav Surkov, who serves as Medvedev's first deputy chief of
staff.
Under the plan, Medvedev could implement changes to the constitution
and unpopular social reforms "so that Putin could return to the Kremlin for a
longer period," the newspaper said.
"Under this scenario Medvedev could
resign early citing changes to the constitution and then presidential elections
could take place in 2009," the newspaper said, citing the unidentified source
close to the Kremlinl.
The paper said Putin, who is currently prime minister,
could then rule for two six year terms, so from 2009 to 2021.

In Some Nations, People Look to Obama as President of the World

President-elect Barack Obama is being embraced worldwide as a symbol of a new beginning for international relations.

Barack Obama's election on Tuesday set off international celebrations and ignited a fervor for the United States that has been unseen since the days immediately following the September 11, 2001, terror attacks.
To some observers, the international reaction has elevated America's president-elect to an unparalleled post: president of the world.

Halloween

The kids did the Star Wars theme again this year. We had a Clone, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leah. Last week there was Spiderman too. The look on his face is what Halloween is all about.

Obama Supporters

If you haven't read my previous posting, this woman is one of the people I'm talking about. Sadly, the American Dream has been transformed from the land of opportunity to build a successful life for yourself into the land of handouts where the government will support you and pay for your gas. Absolutely unbelievable.

High Expectations

For months now I have been talking to friends and family about how all of the Obama supporters who keep touting the token, "Change" theme will be sorely disappointed if he is elected and he can't deliver any substantial change. I guess they think an Obama administration can pull the US and, for that matter, the world out of economic recession and military disputes. The Obama administration will have A LOT of people who are really mad that the "lollipops and rainbows" change that they thought they were going to get is not delivered. Obama's campaign has finally realized this as well and are now warning their own supporters that the change they have promised can not happen as they have made it sound.

Barack Obama's senior advisers have drawn up plans to lower expectations
for his presidency if he wins next week's election, amid concerns that many of
his euphoric supporters are harboring unrealistic hopes of what he can
achieve.
The sudden financial crisis and the prospect of a deep and painful
recession have increased the urgency inside the Obama team to bring people down
to earth, after a campaign in which his soaring rhetoric and promises of "hope"
and "change" are now confronted with the reality of a stricken economy.
One
senior adviser told The Times that the first few weeks of the transition,
immediately after the election, were critical, "so there's not a vast mood swing
from exhilaration and euphoria to despair."
The aide said that Obama himself
was the first to realize that expectations risked being inflated.

Harlem voters

So we all know that it is racist to discriminate against someone based on their race. The media and the left make sure that "whitey" knows he's a racist if he disagrees with B.O. Not surprising is that the media and left never brings up how it is just as racist to blindly favor and support a person just because they are the same color.

Joe Biden's Speech Everybody Should Hear

Over the weekend Joe Biden gave a speech to supporters in Seattle that should scare every person who hears it. A couple of things to think about while you read this. What does he know that the American public doesn't? How can he "guarantee" that we will be faced with something and that we (American public) will not initially support their decision? He already knows how they are going to respond to something that has not happened and he also already knows that we will not support the decisions made. This is scary stuff. Hello socialism, fairness doctrine, one world currency, and new unprecedented international conflict. This is from ABC News Political Radar.

ABC News' Matthew Jaffe Reports: Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., on Sunday guaranteed that if elected, Sen. Barack Obama., D-Ill., will be tested by an international crisis within his first six months in power and he will need supporters to stand by him as he makes tough, and possibly unpopular, decisions.

"Mark my words," the Democratic vice presidential nominee warned at the second of his two Seattle fundraisers Sunday. "It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy."

"I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate," Biden said to Emerald City supporters, mentioning the Middle East and Russia as possibilities. "And he's gonna need help. And the kind of help he's gonna need is, he's gonna need you - not financially to help him - we're gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it's not gonna be apparent initially, it's not gonna be apparent that we're right."Not only will the next administration have to deal with foreign affairs issues, Biden warned, but also with the current economic crisis.

"Gird your loins," Biden told the crowd. "We're gonna win with your help, God willing, we're gonna win, but this is not gonna be an easy ride. This president, the next president, is gonna be left with the most significant task. It's like cleaning the Augean stables, man. This is more than just, this is more than – think about it, literally, think about it – this is more than just a capital crisis, this is more than just markets. This is a systemic problem we have with this economy."

The Delaware lawmaker managed to rake in an estimated $1 million total from his two money hauls at the downtown Sheraton, the same hotel where four years ago Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., clinched the Democratic nomination. Despite warning about the difficulties the next administration will face, Biden said the Democratic ticket is equipped to meet the challenges head on."I've forgotten more about foreign policy than most of my colleagues know, so I'm not being falsely humble with you. I think I can be value added, but this guy has it," the Senate Foreign Relations chairman said of Obama. "This guy has it. But he's gonna need your help. Because I promise you, you all are gonna be sitting here a year from now going, 'Oh my God, why are they there in the polls? Why is the polling so down? Why is this thing so tough?' We're gonna have to make some incredibly tough decisions in the first two years. So I'm asking you now, I'm asking you now, be prepared to stick with us. Remember the faith you had at this point because you're going to have to reinforce us."

"There are gonna be a lot of you who want to go, 'Whoa, wait a minute, yo, whoa, whoa, I don't know about that decision'," Biden continued. "Because if you think the decision is sound when they're made, which I believe you will when they're made, they're not likely to be as popular as they are sound. Because if they're popular, they're probably not sound."Biden emphasized that the mountainous Afghanistan-Pakistan border is of particular concern, with Osama bin Laden "alive and well" and Pakistan "bristling with nuclear weapons."

"You literally can see what these kids are up against, our kids in that region," Biden said in recalling when his helicopter was forced down due to a snowstorm there. "The place is crawling with al Qaeda. And it's real." "We do not have the military capacity, nor have we ever, quite frankly, in the last 20 years, to dictate outcomes," he cautioned. "It's so much more important than that. It's so much more complicated than that. And Barack gets it."

After speaking for just over a quarter of an hour, Biden noticed the media presence in the back of the small ballroom. "I probably shouldn't have said all this because it dawned on me that the press is here," he joked."All kidding aside, these guys have left us in a God-awful place," he then said of the Bush regime, promptly wrapping up his remarks. "We have the ability to straighten it out. It's gonna take a little bit of time, so I ask you to stay with us. Stay with us."

Joe Biden Can't Count

This guy gets away with everything. Dan Quayle was crucified for the potato(e) incident, but Biden does stuff like this every single day. On a positive note. If Obama-Biden win, at least we can make fun of Biden for the next 4 years.

Birthdays, Hikes and Photo Bombing

My oldest celebrated his 7th Birthday recently. And as you can see here, my wife made an awesome soccer cake.

I think I may have found a new hobby as well... photo bombing. If your not familiar with this term it's basically the act of changing somebodies photo by inserting yourself into it at the last second. Good fun for all.

Inadvertent photo-bombs can be fun as well. Take this next photo taken on a recent hike for example.

Here, I can be seen thoroughly enjoying yet another stop along the hike to take a picture.

If anyone has any photo-bombs they'd like to send me I'd love to see them.

Obama, Revelations, and the Beast

In my last post I mentioned the Book of Revelation. By the way, if anybody is free this weekend I'm building a bunker in my basement if you'd like to help. I'll supply the tin foil hats.

Earlier this year Louis Farrakhan spoke very highly of Obama...

Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, another powerful Chicago-based political figure associated with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and other long-time associates of Democratic Party presidential candidate Barack Obama, is leaving no doubt about what he thinks of the leader in the campaign for the White House. He says when Obama talks "the Messiah is absolutely speaking." Addressing a large crowd behind a podium Feb. 24 with a Nation of Islam Saviour's Day 2008 sign, Farrakhan proclaims,

"You are the instruments that God is going to use to bring about universal change, and that is why
Barack has captured the youth. And he has involved young people in a political process that
they didn't care anything about. That's a sign. When the Messiah speaks, the youth will hear, and the Messiah is absolutely speaking."

"Brothers and sisters," Farrakhan said, "Barack Obama to me, is a herald of the Messiah. Barack Obama is like the trumpet that alerts you something new, something better is on the way."

Farrakhan points out that the man Nation of Islam followers refer to as "the Savior," Fard Muhammad, had a black father and a white mother, just as Obama did.
"A black man with a white mother became a savior to us," he said. "A black man with a white mother could turn out to be one who can lift America from her fall.

"Would God allow Barack to be president of a country that has been so racist, so evil in its treatment of Hispanics, native Americans, blacks?" he asked. "Would God do something like that? Yeah. Of course he would. That's to show you that the stone that the builders rejected has become the headstone of the corner. This is a sign to you. It's the time of our rise. It's the time that we should take our place. The future is all about you." Full Story

What change and/or who do you think Farrakhan is referring to when he says Obama will "herald" in this Messiah? And the most important question to ask is why does Farrakhan think this way of Obama? What is it that makes him think Obama can help the Nation of Islam? Obama is not a muslim so what is it about him that makes him so connected with Islam and their agenda?

Do you know what the "Beast" is? We'd better go down to the bunker for this...bring some candles and don't forget the Kool-Aid. Let's take a look at Revelation Chapter 13.
1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. 2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
Wikipedia time... (In antiquity, it was believed that a leopard was a hybrid of a lion and a panther, as is reflected in its name, a Greek portmanteau derived from λέων léon ("lion") and πάρδος párdos ("male panther"), the latter related to Sanskrit पृदाकु pṝdāku ("snake, tiger, panther").[3][4]
As Farrakhan noted, Obama is half white and half black. Also, the "mouth of a lion"? Obama is a heck of a speaker... people listen and follow him just based on empty promises and uplifting rhetoric, not his actions. Finally, "the dragon (Satan) gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority"...pretty obvious what that means.

3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. (the majority of the world will admire and desire wickedness in the last days)
4 And they worshipped the dragon (Satan) which gave power unto the beast (representing degenerate earthly kingdoms controlled by Satan): and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him (i.e. isn't he wonderful!)?
5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. (If Obama was to take office on January 20th, 2009, 42 months later would be the Summer Solstice June 20th. Exactly 6 months later is December 21st, the Winter Soltice, and also happens to be the end date for the Mayan Calendar.)

6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy (mocking God and all that is sacred and good) against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven (Satan and his followers will mock all that is sacred on earth and in heaven).
7 And it was given unto him (allowed him) to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations (he is allowed to tempt people everywhere).
8 And all (the wicked) that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world (i.e. those who do not follow the Savior are worshiping Satan; Compare with Matthew 12:30 KJV "He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad").
9 If any man have an ear, let him hear (you would be wise to heed these warnings about Satan).
10 He (the powerful wicked) that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity (the wicked will be destroyed by the wicked): he (the wicked) that killeth with the sword must be (will be) killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb ("like a lamb," not "the Lamb," perhaps meaning a powerful "false Christ," a counterfeit by Satan), and he spake as a dragon (like Satan).
12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13 And he doeth great wonders (Satan and his angels can do miracles), so that he maketh fire come down from heaven (nuclear war???) on the earth in the sight of men,
14 And deceiveth them (the wicked and the foolish) that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image (i.e. worship) to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. (In other words, Satan will do all he can to get pople to follow him, to "worship" him by living wickedly in the last days.)
15 And he had power to give life (make wickedness attractive) unto the image of the beast (which the wicked made in verse 14 by following Satan's instructions), that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: (In the culture of the Bible, "forehead" was symbolic of "loyalty")
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name (Satan exercises great control over economies where the majority are wicked or allow wickedness).
18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six (666...not sure exactly what this means).

You can draw from this what you want. I'm not saying that Barack Obama is the "Beast" but I'm not, not saying that either.

New World Currency on its way.

Today we saw one of the overt steps towards a common global currency. With all of the markets around the world tanking there has been a coordinated interest rate cut. I beleive this will be the beginning of a very strange year where we will see the emergence of a global currency and unexpected alliances among countries. Background on the Financial Crisis

An article in the NY Times written exactly 9 years ago details how Fannie Mae was relaxing their underwriting because of pressure from the Clinton administration. It also predicts how the government will be needed to bail it out in an economic downturn. You have to read this article...

Fannie Mae Eases Credit To Aid Mortgage Lending
By STEVEN A. HOLMES
Published: September 30, 1999

In a move that could help increase home ownership rates among minorities and low-income consumers, the Fannie Mae Corporation is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders.
The action, which will begin as a pilot program involving 24 banks in 15 markets -- including the New York metropolitan region -- will encourage those banks to extend home mortgages to individuals whose credit is generally not good enough to qualify for conventional loans. Fannie Mae officials say they hope to make it a nationwide program by next spring.
Fannie Mae, the nation's biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people and felt pressure from stock holders to maintain its phenomenal growth in profits...

...In moving, even tentatively, into this new area of lending, Fannie Mae is taking on significantly more risk, which may not pose any difficulties during flush economic times. But the government-subsidized corporation may run into trouble in an economic downturn, prompting a government rescue similar to that of the savings and loan industry in the 1980's.
''From the perspective of many people, including me, this is another thrift industry growing up around us,'' said Peter Wallison a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute. ''If they fail, the government will have to step up and bail them out the way it stepped up and bailed out the thrift industry.''

Can you believe this?

Thursday nights moderator for the VP debate is coming out with a pro-Obama titled "The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama". Apparently Obama now has his own "Age". In the "Age of Obama"? Are you kidding me? She had better check her bias at the door. A woman who is set to make money if Obama wins the election. Hhhmmm, seems like there could have been a better choice.

"Clearly her books aren't going to do as well unless Obama wins, so it looks like she has some investment, literally, in one candidate or the other. And she's supposed to be sitting there as a neutral arbiter during the debate," said NPR's Juan Williams, a FOX News contributor. The Blame Game

Our economy is in a lot of trouble right now and it seems that all the suits in Washington want to do is play the blame game. The mess we're in right now cannot be put squarely on the shoulders of one party, but it is mostly do to the continued actions and non-actions of one organization; congress. In the early '90's legislation was passed to loosen up the credit and lending laws because people were falsely claiming racism on the part of lenders. Thus, the 'sub-prime' loans were born. Over the years, more and more laws were stacked on top of the first ones to the point that they were practically giving houses away to first time home buyers 5-7 years ago. Both parties have had their opportunities to make changes and they haven't.

The following are some comments from Glenn Beck's website. He puts more of the blame on the democrats and brings up some surprising information that the mainstream media doesn't tell you. The comments in blue are those of a typical liberal and the reply are those of the always articulate, always charming and handsome conservative...

'The last thing we need is another 4 years of the failed Republican policies that have led us to the brink of disaster...with the mess they've made of huge financial institutions like Fannie Mae & AIG, that we now have to bail out!'
1. Fannie Mae really WAS run right into the ground wasn't it? And guess what? It was DEMOCRATS who did it. Former Fannie Mae Chairman and CEO Franklin Raines was the White House budget director under Bill Clinton. He was also cited by the Washington Post as an economic advisor to...Barack Obama. Obama, in his very short time in the U.S. Senate also quickly became the second largest recipient of campaign contributions from Fannie Mae, ahead of even John Kerry.

'OK, ONE democrat doesn't make this a democrat caused problem!'
2. Well then, there's Jamie Gorelick. Does that name sound familiar? She served as Bill Clinton's Deputy Attorney General. She installed the Intelligence "Wall of Separation" that helped lead to the disaster we suffered on 9/11. Then she served as Vice Chairman at Fannie Mae. In 2002, she told "BusinessWeek" that Fannie Mae was "very, very strong" and was "managed safely". For her efforts, driving the company to the brink, she received $26 million plus bonuses.

'That doesn't explain this incredible mess we're in now'
3. Actually, in large part, it does. Fannie Mae is heavily involved with the Congressional Black Caucus. Interim CEO Daniel Mudd described the relationship Fannie Mae and the Congressional Black Caucus shared as a "family" relationship. The Caucus pressured Fannie Mae to get mortgage loans for millions of Americans who couldn't afford them. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were the worst offenders in this housing loan crisis, which in turn caused so many banking institutions to go down with it. The crisis has had a domino effect throughout our financial institutions. In fact, AIG was in part brought down because it held $600 million in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Meanwhile, President Bush has called for reforming Fannie and Freddie 17 TIMES this year alone! The democrats' fingerprints are all over this crisis.

Here is the original White House Press Release. It would have been nice if the media actually 'released' it. They want you to think that this is all because of the GOP. A new CNN poll actually shows that the majority of people believe it too.

Should there be charges filed? Should these Fannie and Freddie people go to jail? Remember Enron? Do you think congress is going to hold hearings to investigate all of this? Last year at this time congress was busy holding hearings over steroids in baseball. Thank goodness we got to the bottom of that.

Emotional Hippies - Crying Over Dead Trees

One of the tags for this video on Youtube is "Vote for Obama 2008". Not sure he'd like to be aligned with people so rational. They just want the trees to know that they care. I'm sure the trees appreciate it very much. Here, have a tissue. Oh wait, sorry I only have real tissues; no cloth... use your sleeve stinky.

Hiking

We got out of the house and enjoyed the mountains yesterday. Here is a video of what it's like for a 4 year old to blaze the trail.

No hike would be complete without playing "Pooh sticks." It's a game we learned from our friend Whinnie the Pooh. Everybody chooses their own stick and you all drop it from the upstream side of a bridge. The person's stick that comes out on the other side first wins. I know, it sounds very exciting. Trust me, it is.

It's getting cold, and I don't mean the weather

The United States kicked out Venezuela's ambassador in Washington in retaliation for Hugo Chavez kicking the U.S. envoy out of Venezuela. Here's the story.

Earlier this week of two Russian bombers landing in Venezuela.

"The Yankee hegemony is finished," he added.
A Russian defence ministry
spokesman confirmed that the planes had flown to Venezuela, adding that they
were escorted by NATO fighters as they flew across the Atlantic.
The planes
are capable of carrying nuclear missiles, but the spokesman did not give any
information about whether they were carrying arms during this mission.
President Chavez has backed Russia's military operations in Georgia, and
said that he is interested in buying Russian submarines.

Joe "Dirt" Biden

The Obama camp was out in full force today. I wouldn't say they'd consider a very productive day...

Biden helped the struggling Obama campaign out today by telling a man in a wheelchair to stand up.

He did this after making some fantastic remarks about when life begins. For him, it starts at conception. Well, don't you think that's a little strange coming from a campaign who supports abortion. Read this article, you can't make this stuff up.

Joe Dirt wasn't done insulting people though. He told voters in voters in Columbia, Mo., “I hear all this talk about how the Republicans are going to work in dealing with parents who have both the joy, because there’s joy to it as well, the joy and the difficulty of raising a child who has a developmental disability, who were born with a birth defect. Well guess what folks? If you care about it, why don’t you support stem cell research?”

McCain camp responded with..."“Barack Obama’s running mate sunk to a new low today launching an offensive debate over who cares more about special needs children. Playing politics with this issue is disturbing and indicative of a desperate campaign,” said campaign spokesman Ben Porritt

Somebody needs to tell this guy that stem cell research can't do anything for kids with Down syndrome and other developmental disabilities. Read the article here.

Barack Obama didn't want to be outdone by his running mate so today he said this little gem... "You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig." Here is an article by the New York Post which says he "put his foot in his mouth." Do you think he's making a reference to Palin? It looks like the audience took it that way...I do too. Here it is in it's context.

Jesus Is My Friend

You'll be singing this all day long.

Hottest toy of the season...

Quickly gaining strength and rivaling other gangs are the political nerds (who me?). Reminiscent of "trekkies", these "politickies" (I'm coining that one) have a new toy to play with. The Sarah Palin Action Figure hit the net today from the same company (http://www.herobuilders.com/) that built our favorite players John McCain, Hillary Clinton, and Mr. B. O., Dick Cheney, George Bush, and many more.
The Palin action figure costs about $30 and comes in three versions; the executive, the superhero, and, of course the naughty school girl.

Olbermann and Matthews go Ba-bye.

MSNBC has relieved Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews of their duties of brown nosing the democratic party. They will most certainly continue their practice for their role as commentators but no longer as anchors who are supposed to remain unbiased. MSNBC finished dead last...read the complete story here.

Also, McCain now leads by a 10 point margin according to a recent USA Today poll.

Prediction

Just a quick prediction before Palin gives her speech tonight. No matter how good it is; no matter if it is the best speech ever given by a politician, a woman, or a human being in the history of mankind, the media will tear it apart and say that she didn't deliver. The hypocrisy from the left and the media is absolutely amazing. They are tearing Palin apart because she is running "in a time of family crisis". However, they only had praise for Biden when he took office 2 weeks after his wife was killed in a car accident. TWO WEEKS! He took his oath of office at his son's bedside in the hospital!!!

I thought the left was all about women in the work force. That women could do it all. Why is the left all of a sudden concerned about proper parenting? I guess a woman who is against abortion and is conservative just doesn't fit the mold of what they had in mind.

This will all backfire on the media. They are only rallying the troops behind Palin. The last thing they want is a mobilized force of soccer mom's coming to the aide of one of their sisters. The media is throwing everything they possibly can at her right now...they will run out of ammo soon, but they will then be facing a unified conservative, evangelical, republican base.

Final thought. Has anyone ever thought that a baby is a "punishment"? Some babies aren't planned and some come at "inconvenient" times in people's lives but are they ever a "punishment"? After that same baby turns 4 years old, 10, 15, reaches adulthood...are they still a "punishment"? Did you know that Obama's mom was 17 when he was conceived AND she wasn't married?

I guess his momma was punished with a baby. Watch this....

Politopics

Topic #1. The political scene is certainly heating up lately. McCain stole some of Obama's thunder by revealing his VP pick today right after Obama's pretentious speech last night. I will admit, Barack Obama is a very good speaker. My favorite part of the speech, well, it's so hard to choose just one...I guess one of my favorite parts was when he said something like, "this has never been about me, this is about you." Really? Is that why you're giving this speech in front of 80,000 people, at a venue with Bon Jovi, Sheryll Crowe, and James Taylor, and then saying "...with great humility I accept your nomination"?

hu-mil-i-ty: noun: the quality or state of being humble.
hum-ble: adj. : 1. not proud or haughty : not arrogant or assertive

Topic #1.5. I never realized how much power George Bush really has until all of the things the democrats blamed on him over the past few days. College tuition is too expensive because of him. So is gas. The economy is completely in shambles apparently because of him. And since our economy is in the tank the world economy is in the tank, so that means George Bush is responsible for the world's economic woes. The housing and credit crisis is his fault. The food shortages in 3rd world countries are his fault. Women don't have equal rights anymore...(have we gone back in time?) The Soviets invading Georgia are his fault (did you hear them say that? They did! Unbelievable.) Iran's nuke issue is his fault. Global warming is his fault. WOW! George Bush is one powerful dude to have this much control over everything!!!

Next topic. Have any of you seen MSNBC and their coverage of the democratic convention? If you don't have a life and have a strong stomach check out the first minute or two of this video. Keith Olbermann is the biggest poser of all time. He should shut his pie hole and go home to his Obama body pillow. Aren't "journalists" supposed to remain relatively unbiased? Chris Matthews isn't quite as far gone as K O, but these guys are a joke. Watch what they do to the Republicans next week...I guarantee there won't be a love-fest like this...

Topic #3. I'm a conservative. I'm a fan of Glenn Beck. Whether or not you are either of those you should really read this article...do it, you'll thank me.

Topic #4. I've already heard people object to Vice Presidential nominee Palin who say, "Oh dear, I'm just worried who will take care of that baby. And did you know the baby has Down syndrome?" You know who's going to take care of that baby? Mom and Dad. Mom didn't abort the little guy so she's sure as heck not going to "abandon" him now. ALSO...why do people automatically discount the fact that there is a father in the picture. I am a stay-at-home-dad of a daughter who has Down syndrome. Believe it or not, dads can provide just as good care for babies as momma can.

Topic #5. Have a great weekend!

Arctic Ice

I saw an article today about how the Arctic sea ice is at it's second lowest level since they started recording the levels. Here's a little clip of the article from the AP...

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Arctic Ocean sea ice has melted to the second lowest minimum since satellite observations began, according to scientists at the National Snow and Ice Data Center.
Sea ice melt recorded on Monday exceeded the low recorded in 2005, which had held second place.
With several weeks left in the melt season, ice in summer 2008 has a chance to diminish below the record low set last year, according to scientists at the National Snow and Ice Data Center.
Environmental groups said the ice melt was another alarm bell warning of global warming.
"It's an unfortunate sign that climate change is coming rapidly to the Arctic and that we really need to address the issue of global warming on a national level," said Christopher Krenz, Arctic project manager for Oceana.
"This is not surprising but it is alarming," said Deborah Williams, a former Interior Department special assistant for Alaska. "This was a relatively cool summer, and to have ice decrease to the second lowest minimum on record demonstrates that global warming's ongoing impact is profound."

Okay, let that digest for a minute and pay attention to the quote I subtly highlighted in blazing yellow. Now, completely unrelated to arctic sea ice melting and surprisingly so under-reported that I'm sure you haven't heard about it is the following article... Volcanic eruptions reshape Arctic ocean floor: study
Jun 25, 2008
PARIS (AFP) — Recent massive volcanoes have risen from the ocean floor deep under the Arctic ice cap, spewing plumes of fragmented magma into the sea, scientists who filmed the aftermath reported Wednesday.
The eruptions -- as big as the one that buried Pompei -- took place in 1999 along the Gakkel Ridge, an underwater mountain chain snaking 1,800 kilometres (1,100 miles) from the northern tip of Greenland to Siberia.
Scientists suspected even at the time that a simultaneous series of earthquakes were linked to these volcanic spasms.
But when a team led of scientists led by Robert Sohn of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Massachusetts finally got a first-ever glimpse of the ocean floor 4,000 meters (13,000 feet) beneath the Arctic pack ice, they were astonished.
What they saw was unmistakable evidence of explosive eruptions rather than the gradual secretion of lava bubbling up from Earth's mantle onto the ocean floor.
Previous research had concluded that this kind of so-called pyroclastic eruption could not happen at such depths due to the crushing pressure of the water.
"On land, explosive volcanic eruptions are nothing exceptional, although they present a major threat," said Vera Schlindwein, a geologist with Germany's Alfred Wegener Institute for Sea and Polar Research, which took part in the study.
But the new findings, published in Nature, showed that "large-scale pyroclastic activity is possible along even the deepest portions of the global mid-ocean ridge volcanic system."
The mid-ocean ridge runs 84,000 kilometres (52,000 miles) beneath all the world's major seas except the Southern Ocean, and marks the boundary between many of the tectonic plates that make up the surface of the Earth.
When continental plates collide into each other, they can thrust up mountain ranges such as the Himalayas.
But along most of the mid-ocean ridge -- including the Gakkal Ridge -- the plates are pulling apart, allowing molten magna and gases trapped beneath the crust to escape.
Sohn and his colleagues gathered their data in July last year aboard the ice breaker Oden, using state-of-the-art instruments including a mutlibeam echo sounder, two autonomous underwater vehicles and a sub-ice camera designed for the mission.
Both sonar and visual images showed an ocean valley filled with flat-topped volcanos up to two kilometres (1.2 miles) wide and several hundred metres high.

Now, I'm no scientist, but I am a thinker... what do volcanoes do besides make land? Anyone?

Anyone?

Bueller?

Bueller?

The Messiah is here...not.

Is anybody else getting creeped out by the love affair the media and the democrats have with Barrack Obama? The latest example of their worship comes from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's introduction of Obama at a fundraiser in California. She graciously received him as "a leader that God has blessed us with at this time." Are you kidding me? I didn't know God leaned to the left.

This guy is so pompous and confident he would be the perfect casting for the "cocky one" on MTV's The Real World.

“I will win. Don’t worry about that,” he said to the crowd of about 1,300 over the weekend.

“Now, you want to win. And saying it doesn’t make it so,” he told the crowd. “It would be nice to think that after eight years of economic disaster, after eight years of bungled foreign policy, of being engaged in a war that should never have been authorized and should never have been waged, that cost us a trillion dollars and thousands of lives, that people would say, let’s toss the bums out. Toss the bums out, we’re starting from scratch, we’re starting over. This is not working."

"So I understand why a lot of folks are saying, this should just happen. Why are we having to run all these television commercials? Why do we have to raise all this money?"

Really Mr. B.O.? Do you want to know why you have to spend millions more than McCain (who isn't so hot himself) just to stay even with him in the polls?

Maybe it's because he sponsored S.CON.RES.53: A concurrent resolution expressing the sense of Congress that any effort to impose photo identification requirements for voting should be rejected.

Or wait, maybe it's because in 1999 he voted against filtering pornography on school and library computers. Somebody please tell me why anybody would want porn accessible on a school, let alone, library computer. Oh right, the free speech argument. How is looking at smut on a taxpayer's dime and in a taxpayer run facility an individual's right?

Sticking with the perverted legislation, he was the only Illinois State Senator to vote against a bill barring early release for (criminal) sex offenders and he voted for sex education for kindergarten children through the 5th grade. What world is this guy from? Since when did a kindergartner need sex ed.? Ahh, I get it, since you started letting the sex offenders out early, that's when. By the way, in 2001 he only had the moral aptitude to vote "present" in regards to a bill that would keep pornographic book and video stores and strip clubs from setting up 1,000 ft. from churches and schools.

Maybe Obama has to spend so much money because he's such a big fan of abortion. He has voted twice against bills prohibiting tax funding of abortions. His wife loves those good ol' abortions too. In a fundraising letter from February 2004, his wife, Michelle, stated that "so-called" partial-birth abortion was a legitimate medical procedure that should be protected.

In 2003, as chairman of the next Senate committee to which BAIPA (Born Alive Infants Protection Act) was sent, Obama prevented it from even getting a hearing. BAIPA, by the way, stated that all live-born babies were guaranteed the same constitutional right to equal protection, whether or not they were wanted. In 2001, he voted “present” on a bill to notify parents when their minor children seek an abortion. He voted against a cloning ban in 2000, but voted for it in 2001. In 1997, Obama twice voted “present” on an Illinois partial-birth abortion ban. In addition, if a baby actually survives the abortion (this actually happens) then Obama has voted that no medical attention can be provided and the baby will die eventually.

OK, lets get back to the speech from the "leader that God has blessed us with."

"Just read the papers. These are the knuckleheads who have been in charge. Throw ‘em out. But American politics aren’t that simple. The fact of the matter is, at a certain point, when government has not been serving the people for this long, people get cynical. They tune out. And they start saying to themselves, a plague on both your houses. They are willing to consume negative information more frequently than positive information, for good reason. They’ve seen how promises haven’t been kept.”

“They’ve got a whole machinery that they’re cranking out,” Obama continued. “They’ve got a book about me, that just kind of sprung full bore out of this guy’s head.”

“John McCain, all he wants to do is talk about me. They know they can’t win on the issues. So what they’ll do is they’ll try to scare people."
Um, excuse me. What do you think your doing? Why does he keep saying that the Republicans are the ones who are going to inject race into the campaign when he is the only one who's talking about it? I thought he was supposed be the one who could finally unite us all. There hasn't been so much talk about racial divide as there is now for decades. Why do suppose that is?

Chupacabra found!

I was walking the dog the other day and we came across this strange creature. Does anybody know what this beastly thing is? It's unlike anything I've ever seen. I have a team of scientists working on it as we speak.

We've seen a lot of stories similar to this one in the last year. Just today there was a press conference about the alleged Bigfoot they found in the backwoods of Georgia. Here's the story if you happened to have come straight to my blog and bypassed all other media sources, as I'm sure many of you have. Does anybody really believe these guys? I can't post the actual photo of Mr. Foot stuffed in a freezer, but I did capture this image of his nephew stuffed in a cooler.

Anyway, back to some real news... this is a video of two of these chupacabra things terrorizing my kids. It was all very traumatic and the kids are now in counseling.

Funny things...

The other night I ran out to the store and while I was there my wife was going to give the kids a bath. Upon coming home, I was setting the groceries on the counter when I could hear our 6 year old yell to his little brother, "Smell my butt! It smells like a strawberry milkshake!!" What's stranger than his butt smelling like a strawberry milkshake is that I wasn't even surprised to hear a statement like that being made.

I was a little surprised tonight, however, when I opened the refrigerator door a while after we had finished dinner. Again, our 6 year old said that he wasn't hungry and that he'd eat his Mac n Cheese for lunch tomorrow. So, I told him, "Lets save it then. Take the spoon out, cover it with some tin foil, and stick it in the fridge." I guess we know he follows directions well.

Revolutionary Fuel???

Last night on the radio I heard an interview with J. C. Bell, the founder of Bell Bio Energy Inc. You will probably be hearing more about this company in the future as he may have solved our energy problems.

Oil, gasoline, and diesel fuel are made up of hydrocarbons. Bell has found a way to produce hydrocarbons and capture them to be used as fuel. The process is inspired by the digestion of a cow. What is one of the main byproducts of a cow's digestion? Methane; CH4. Methane is the simplest of the hydrocarbons and it is produced by the bacteria in the cows' stomach after consumption of grass and other biomass. Mr. Bell found that different bacteria can produce different hydrocarbons. Bacteria from the gut of Amazonian catfish, for instance, can make oil. For every ton of biomass 2 barrels of oil can be produced.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture estimates that there are 1.1 billion tons of biomass readily available every year, and they estimate that number can easily be doubled. I'd say that number could easily be tripled if there were programs for collecting grass clipping, banana peels, egg shells, etc.

He has already met with the government, has a contract with the military, and is in the process of setting up 5 plants throughout the United States. We should see some gas stations carrying this fuel in about a year. A fuel plant works like this... The biomass, (grass, wood, sawdust, any organic waste) is ground up into a sludge, water is added, it's put into a giant vat of hydrocarbon producing bacteria, the hydrocarbons are captured to be turned into fuel, and what is left over is compost which can then be sold to the public.

It will be interesting to see if this will be a viable solution to put a dent in our energy needs. I'm ready for it. I might have to get a new bumper sticker for my car though. This technology is going to ruin the joke.
